Hoonah Whale Tours is a family owned whale watching company that operates out of Hoonah, AK. When taking this tour you will be on a private 6 passenger boat tour that goes out into Icy Strait. During the tour will you get the chance to see all sorts of Southeast Alaska wildlife, including bald eagles, sea lions, sea otters, sometimes brown bear and orcas and of course humpback whales! Our tours last between 3 and 3.5 hours and we guarantee you'll see whales or you money back. The boat is a 6 passenger catamaran, with a walk around deck, heated cabin, and a bathroom on board. We also provide snacks and beverages.

We had an absolutely amazing experience with Hoonah Whale tours! Moriyha collcted us from the dock and brought us to the boat to meet Jordan. The reason we chose this tour was because of the small numbers on the tour and the fact that it is a family run business. On the day we felt extremely welcomed by both Moriyha and Jordan, they are fantastic people and really enjoy what they do. We were very lucky that we managed to see a group of Orcas and Humpback whales. The Humpbacks were bubble feeding along the coastline. We were then treat to hot chocolate and homemade blueberry muffins. I would 100% recommend this tour and would love to do it again!

If you want the absolute BEST whale watching trip ever with two of the nicest people around you MUST select Hoonah Whale Tours! The catamaran is comfortable and Moriah and her husband, Joardan our Captain, are the best! Joardan took us to a location that had endless views of whales bubble feeding as we also passed orcas and other wildlife. Our group of six had the time of our lives and a memory that will last a lifetime. My husband and I have been on several whale watching trips but not like this one and not with such nice people. Book with Hoonah and you will not regret it!!!

We were traveling on a cruise and had limited time in port. Moriya met us at the pier and drove us to the harbor. Our group of 6 had the boat to ourselves and the captain was genuinely interested in helping us see all the things we wanted to. WE got VERY close to some really big whales and ever saw 3 breach simultaneously. WOW! We are still bragging to friends about that! This trip is a must in Icy Strait Point. Don't miss it.
