My wife and I recently returned from a 7 day Alaskan cruise on the Ruby Princess out of Seattle. My wife booked the above tour and it was outstanding. After a comfortable ride in our tour bus to the docks, we were met and divided into two groups by two very nice young ladies who escorted us to our waiting boats. Our naturalist/guide was Sara Ryan, a very personable and informative young lady and our Captain on the vessel, was Capt. Terry, again a very personable gentleman and extremely knowledge of the waters and it's wildlife. The ship itself was enclosed, and had large windows to view all surrounding areas thru, plus a rear platform you could use to view from. very comfortable seating. During our outing we had the opportunity to see a mother humpback and her calf, as well as several other whales. Sara was able to get pictures of a whale breaching the surface, which she has shared with us via email. Sara is very knowledge of the whales, identifying some by characteristic markings. She was very informative regarding all the wildlife and mammals we were fortunate enough to see, including bald eagles and sea lions. If you are visiting or planning a cruise, this tour is great. In regards to the salmon bake "DELICIOUS", need I say more. A great tour and meal, we loved it!

Captain Tom and Sara were excellent guides for this wonderful adventure! We saw Orcas (very unusual) and then saw humpback whales. They even breached for us! So exciting. We were there June 11th. Cold and rainy but worth every second. Layers and rain jackets were important! The salmon bake was equally wonderful! I don’t like fish and now I’m a Believer in Salmon smoked over alderwood with their special brown sugar and butter glaze. All of the food was delicious and plenty of it! There’s a stream full of salmon and a beautiful waterfall there as well. Hands down the best trip!

My family of 13 people booked that Whale watching & Salmon Bake excursion while we were on a 7 day Alaskan cruise. Youngest kid was 11 and oldest person was 68 (and if it helps she uses a cane and doesn't walk long distances). We were picked up at the pier and bused out to the boated that we were going whale watching on. Our boat hadn't come back from its earlier tour so our bus driver stayed with us until he could hand us off to someone, maybe 15 to 20 minutes. Alex was our Captain and Brigid was our Naturalist. Brigid talked about the area and told us what she hoped we would see while Alex listened to his radio to find out if other boats had any whale sightings while he drove out to the area the whales should be. It turned out to be a beautiful day weather wise and whale sighting wise. We saw at least 3 different whales, some sea lions, and some dolphins. Captain Alex and Brigid were very excited and please with our sighting and the weather. After our allotted time we went back to catch the bus to the Salmon bake. It was a nice wooded area with good food and indoor plumbing. The salmon was great, we saw them cook it, and the side dishes were good and it was good to be in the woods and relax for a while but not sure if the Salmon bake was worth it but the Whale watching was.
