This tour provided the basic things that were advertised including trip to parks, bee farm, coffee plantation. These were interesting mainly because our guide was not the one teaching at these places. The actual time spent at these places was small compared to the driving around. What was supposed to be a 6 hour tour turned into an 8 hour tour, causing my wife and I to miss out on our afternoon plans. Although this tour has a pick up service, they charge $28 per person to pick you up, regardless of how many people are at that location. I have seen some of the reviews of other guides and I think we were just unlucky to get Kai. He spent a lot of time talking about his own brand of religion involving crystals and spiritual energies. I am happy to hear about the religious beliefs of the people we are learning about, but being told what to believe by the guide is crossing the line. For example, when he found out that I am Christian, he told me that the Bible is "full of errors." I don't think this fits with the live and let live mentality of Aloha that we experienced from everywhere else on the island. When visiting an old Catholic church, he took the opportunity to say how the scenes depicted on the wall of Hell are wrong because everyone gets to go to Heaven. I'm sure the owners of the church would not like him touring the church if they knew what he is teaching inside it. Besides the religious issue, he was not friendly. For example, although there were only five of us and we spent the day together, he never bothered to learn our names. Instead, he would say other things. For example, he called me "back seat" because of my sitting position in the van. I envy the people who got another guide, but Kai ruined it for us. I didn't see anyone give him a tip. Mostly we just shut up and waited for the tour to end.

Aloha, Thank you for the feedback about your experience on our tour. It's unfortunate this was the low point of your visit as we always strive to become the highlight of guest's vacation. While our guides have their respective opinion and interpretation of each site on our tour, it's nevertheless unacceptable for Kai to offend and make guests with different religious beliefs feel uncomfortable during the tour. We will be sure to follow up with the issues you brought up and suspend him from guiding this tour until he has demonstrate better judgement. We charge a higher rate for guests staying at Waikoloa area for the extra 2 hours drive to pick up and drop off guests there. The tour does run a bit longer for guests staying in that area as well. I am sorry if this wasn't made clear in the confirmation. Please accept our sincere apologies on behave of Kai for your unpleasant experience. We will make sure this doesn't happen again in the future. Please don't hesitate to send me a message or email me at [email protected] if there is anything I can do to make it right for you.
