I was really looking forward to this tour but it was a disappointing. The boat and crew were very professional no complaints there. After a half hour trip to the swim spot we had to wait around for over two hours for sunset. There were many seasick passengers on board and some fish feeding 🤮It was not a good experience for many of the 24 on board. Unfortunately as we were about to swim were were warned about reports of jellyfish in the area. We were given the choice to go in or not. Only about half chose to swim. I did swim but after a 20 minute wait in the water in rough conditions we saw only one small ray. So disappointed. It really should be made clearer that you may not get the experience you are hoping for. Of course this was not the crews fault but a let down for all who went out. A solution to the waiting time is possible, many boats arrive just on sunset and had the same experience with the rays, limited as it was. But... great crew and facilities.

The crew is very professional and take the safety of everyone on board as well as that of the manta rays very seriously. While this is a business for them we got the impression they really care about these beautiful and majestic creatures. We had a great experience and saw many manta rays rolling very close to us. My daughter is 7 and got a bit frightened so they took her out early - they were very professional checking on the wellbeing of everyone throughout. You do have a wait around a bit for sunset as the boat leaves early, but this didn't really bother us. It's a bit tough on younger kids though so bring extra snacks - some light snacks were provided but I'd recommend bringing your own too as you're out on the water for a while. I got a bit cold in the water but stuck it out - they give you a nice hot shower when you get out. Highly recommended and worth every cent.

Highly recommend if you are in Kona to take this trip. Captain and crew were great and took my two kids (16 and 10) on the trip and they thought seeing the rays up close and personal was just AWESOME!! I think we saw about 20 rays. Have seen this on TV but nothing like being in the water and having the rays do barrel rolls inches from you. 10 year old was a bit nervous at first but I will give credit to the crew that made her and everyone else with limited ocean swimming experience feel comfortable and confident. Kudos to the Captain and Crew for their efforts and would recommend this trip to anyone. Bring your GoPro cause you will want to show this to your family and friends.
