I would recommend the purchase of the New York City Pass to travellers to NYC before leaving the UK. Collecting the booklet of tickets in NYC was hassle free and having the tickets in advance meant one avoided long queues at the various attractions with the exception of the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island trip. We left this excursion until our last day as we deemed it something special only to discover a very long queue to catch the ferry, a queue which we could not jump even with our City Passes. We were advised that it would be at least a 2 hour wait before boarding and that it was necessary to arrive before 9am (we had arrived mid morning) to avoid the queue, information which would have been useful had we known in advance. We decided to forego the trip in order to visit the American Museum of Natural History on the edge of Central Park which like all the attractions included in the City Pass was excellent. Although it was disappointing not to visit Ellis Island and its museum, we still felt the City Pass was good value for money.
We found our pass book very easy to use and covered most of the places we wished to visit
This city pass is great value and well worth the price we paid. We did not manage to use all our tickets as we did run out of time with 4 days spent there.
