If you like museums and art galleries, the New York CityPass is a great way to visit the major museums in NYC over a 9 day period. Also included is access to a couple of the famous sights (eg Empire State Building) - but carefully check the details to see if this is the Pass for you and whether it offers the options your are looking for. As a visitor to NYC for a week, it offered me good value for money and was cheaper than purchasing individual tickets to each venue. It also allowed me to bypass the long entry and ticket queues. I still had to queue but the line was much shorter than the general entry queue.
really useful. We were welcomed at the various locations and fast tracked.
Handy to get a few of the big-ticket, must-see items included on the one pass at a decent price but other that, none of the other offers included were really that good. The promise of being able to by-pass the queues was a joke - we still queued for over an hour to get onto the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island ferry as everyone was in the same boat (pun intended) as us. Ditto for Top of the Rock. The only time jumping the queue comes into play is if you're there early enough to beat the hordes.
