Bonaventure Cemetery

During this 2.5 hour tour, you will be joining a very exclusive club of people who have seen the cemetery after it closes to the public. Not since it opened in 1846 has this been an opportunity, but thanks to your very special local host, now it is. You are literally locked in the cemetery the entire time; for the right taker, there's no price you can put on the joy of that. Imagine having the serenity, stillness, and quiet of the cemetery, uninterrupted by the living world. I wanted to like this tour but felt that three hours was too long. I think it would have been nice to walk the cemetary during the day to be able to see the graves. Shannon is obvously knowledgeable about the graveyard. Like learning about the history of some of the gravesites, but the stories were so long. Maybe it was because we went on a night that was super cold and rainy. I think they should have canceled it. We left after two hours.

I apologize that you did not enjoy the tour. Yes, the After Hours Tours are more in depth and are rain or shine. We do offer the daytime tour that is less expensive and is two hours. Got to learn a lot about the past of Savannah through this tour! Interesting history especially the sordid facts surrounding the dead!
