Bonaventure Cemetery

During this 2.5 hour tour, you will be joining a very exclusive club of people who have seen the cemetery after it closes to the public. Not since it opened in 1846 has this been an opportunity, but thanks to your very special local host, now it is. You are literally locked in the cemetery the entire time; for the right taker, there's no price you can put on the joy of that. Imagine having the serenity, stillness, and quiet of the cemetery, uninterrupted by the living world. Wow! This was a fantastic experience and the cemetery was beautiful. Shannon really knows Savannah and it’s rich history and takes you on an unforgettable journey. This is a must do if you are visiting!

Shannon does such an impressive job teaching the history of Savannah and sharing detailed history of the people who created that history. Also, the cemetery is beautiful at dusk! (If you’re going in the summer like we did, definitely bring bug spray though.) I only deducted a star because if you’re looking for something with a more spooky/haunted vibe, this tour isn’t exactly that, but on the whole it was still great!

Thank you for your candid and complimentary review. However in fairness to ourselves, and anyone reading this, we do not advertise it as haunted or spooky although during Fall & Winter under darkness, it does have a different vibe. So yes people should do their research in advance so that they understand that when macabre, it is not a ghost tour but a beast all of it's own.
