Small group tour. Great guide! Swamp tour was good, boat captain was great. Both plantations were amazing, so glad I did this tour. And the included lunch gave you the chance to try some fauna and creole foods. Well worth the time.
The plantation tours were both excellent and each was unique. They were very interesting and informative. We were fortunate with the swamp boat portion of the tour as it was a relatively warm November day so we saw many gators along the banks. We also saw a bald eagle. We also learned a lot about gator hunting from our boat guide. Our overall tour guide, Dylan, was excellent as well. He shared great information about the history and culture of the region.
An excellent day. The tours of the Laura and Oak Alley plantations, which architecturally are quite different, revealed a great deal about life along River Road in the nineteenth century. The guides at both venues were excellent. They were both knowledgeable and interesting in their presentations. The highlight of the day, however, was the swamp tour by airboat. The bayous are both haunting and stunning. Our encounter with an alligator was amazing. Definitely recommended.
