  • We do not guarantee pickup for all hotels. Even if your hotel is on the list, there may be a chance you'll need to meet at an alternate location. Any guest staying outside of Phoenix, Scottsdale or Tempe will be required to meet at an alternate location to be determined by supplier. Tour supplier contact details will be provided on your pre-paid voucher.
  • The Grand Canyon South Rim is a 7,000 foot elevation, please note this if you have concerns about altitude.
  • There is NOT a restroom on the van. Comfort stops are made throughout the day.

On Thursday, April 6, 2023 my husband and I took DETOURS day trip to Grand Canyon & Sedona from Phoenix. I was traveling with a bad knee and had many concerns about my ability to take a long trip in a van. Detours coordinator Victoria was vey welcoming and understanding about my issue, encouraging me to take the trip. I also spoke with the manager Rachel who patiently listened to my knee problems and assured me that that the van with a high ceiling would be comfortable enough for me to travel. She also mentioned that there will be many rest stops on the way. Rachel also communicated with us professionally by email the previous day about our trip details. On the day of the trip, we were picked up from our hotel promptly at 6.15 am by our amazing guide Pat Clements. I was seated in the front row with my husband because of my bad knee. Pat was very professional, cordial, respectful, caring, knowledgable and entertaining! His great sense of humor made our 13 hour long trip so much fun!! His wide ranging commentary on plants, changing ecosystems, history, geography, politics, current affairs provided an interesting context to our trip. Sensibly spaced rest stops allowed me to stretch my leg and enjoy the trip to the maximum. We were very satisfied with our trip and strongly recommend Detours and their wonderful team!!!
