Навчіться серфінгу на цьому 2-годинному груповому уроці на Оаху. Waikiki Surf Lesson розпочинає 10-хвилинне слайд-шоу з безпеки в нашому серфінг-магазині, після чого йде на пляж і ще 10 хвилин тренується на піску. Зі свого 20-річного досвіду ми знаємо, що серфінг — це м’язова пам’ять, тому, коли ті, хто вперше опановує свою стійку для серфінгу, вони, як правило, піднімаються на першій же хвилі.

We had a great experience with Hans Hedemann Surf School! The girls at the desk we very helpful and friendly and our instructor was great! We did a semi-private lesson and although our instructor helped get other people turned around, he was helping us the majority of the afternoon. It is true that you are surfing over coral (not rocks folks) which is why you are given water shoes, long sleeved rash guard shirts, AND are instructed to fall flat into the water, so as to not hit the coral. We never once hit the coral, but I did end up getting a rash on my thighs from carrying the the boards back to the school. We had an excellent time surfing and recommend it to everyone!! DO wear boardshorts (Girls)

My vacation in Waikiki was among the best, the people are so polite and friendly UNTIL I went to Hans Hedemann's Surf School. The reception area was a mess, the information given to me was vague, and the girls were somewhat rude. Having had a pretty good week already and downplaying it as just a bad day for them, I signed up anyway. I WISH I NEVER DID SIGN UP WITH HANS HEDEMANN. On the day of my group lesson, upon arrival, my name wasn't found on the list and again the check in girls were RUDE, DISMISSIVE, and not at all attentive. The ABC Store clerks are shining stars compared to them! Finally my reservation was found, PAYMENT PROCESSED AND NOTHING.... I stood there waiting to hear what's next and instead had to ask... so what now? And the girl rather rudly and with a look like I was an idot said well you get your shirt and shoes. No further information was given and I had to pry it out of her that the group was to meet at noon and to wait in the area. So far, VERY FRUSTRATING. The shirt smelled and the shoes were ripped, I brushed it off, not wanting to let a dream vacation go to ruins over this... 12pm rolls around and the instructor, JOSH WAS EXCELLENT. I'm thinking, okay, now we're on track. Until it came down to go to the beach and the instruction SERGE WAS COMPLETELY RUDE AND NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. DID NOT STRIKE ME AS AN INSTRUCTOR. Any questions posed were not answered and THE ONLY TIME I ACTUALLY WAS ABLE TO RIDE A WAVE WAS WITHOUT THE INSTRUCTOR. I DO *NOT* RECOMMEND Hans Hedemann. RUN FAR!!!

I had a few hours available and decided to try a surfing lesson. I checked TripAdvisor of course and found two companies that sounded good. This one had afternoon lessons available - I called and they said they could take me the same day. Booking was quick. The driver was late getting me at my hotel by about 5 min, the doorman said they are often late. But it's Hawaii time so no worries for me. The shop quickly got me into reef shoes and a rash guard. I did a private lesson but I think a small group would be fine. I went with the private because I'm right in that "middle age" bracket and figured I'd be more likely to learn if I were on my own! My instructor was great. We had a few minutes on land when he told me what to do, and then out we went. I was surprised at how quickly we headed out, but on the very first try I managed to stand up briefly! My instructor pushed me so I'd catch the wave, he called to me when to do the steps for standing, and then called when I should get down (if I hadn't fallen off by then). By the end of our hour or so in the water, I was doing pretty well. I want to do another lesson so I can learn how to catch the wave myself instead of him pushing me to catch it! I can see how this is a totally addictive sport...
