Booked this tour and after doing so noticed the pick up was 8th Avenue. If you have been to NY then 8th Avenue is extensive. Tried emailing the company for an address but got no reply. Then phoned Viatour the agent booked through who put me through to them. Eventually found out the pick up was The Bus Station and it was a regular service bus not a tour bus.
We had booked the 1130 bus but on arrival and whilst queuing were informed we only had the scanned pass on our phones and this wasn't accepted. Had to then run to the Gray Line Office in the terminal, obtain the paper tickets and run back. We arrived for 1130 hrsto be informed the bus was full. We stated we had booked seats but were informed that wasn't possible as was a service bus.
As there was a large number of people waiting the bus operator "Coach USA" arranged another bus to arrive which didn't come till 1215 hrs meaning we were late in arriving at the outlet.
The outlet was everything it stated and my wife certainly enjoyed the experience if not my credit card.
The timetable for buses gave a time of 1930 hrs and we duly arrived for our return trip. Again there was a large cue but there was no sight of a bus. An American we spoke to stated the service was always chaotic, A bus then arrived around 2000 hrs but again it was full and there was no seat. We asked the driver when the next bus was and he said maybe 15 - 20 mins.
We all stood waiting and around 50 yards from us sat another Coach USA bus with its engine running and the driver sitting in the drivers seat. We meantime were standing in the heat of 30 degrees not wanting to move in case we lost our place in the increasing cue.
20 mins later that same bus which had been parked nearby drove up and parked in front of us and we established this was the next bus. Not very hospitable but we got on into the air conditioned bus and were transported eventually back to NY.
All in all the outlet was good with a lot of bargains but in future I would def stay well clear of this company as the travel chaos spoiled what would have been a very good day.
