The guide, Teresa, was friendly and knowledgeable. The food tasting portions were generous. However, the wine pairings were all non-California wines, which seemed odd. The final course (chocolates) included a 20 minute wine sales pitch which was a disappointing way to end the tour.

Hi Kyra, I am so sorry you felt your experience was average. We don't hear that type of feedback much and it makes me sad. There is never any pressure to buy wine at the end, Daniel only shares what he is doing in a casual way to pair his lovely wines with the Kollar Chocolate in nature. If you did have Daniel at the end, then you did experience local, Napa wine. As for the other locations, it is true we do not pair by the geographic location, but rather what is the very best compliment to the food we are serving. This tour is all about the pairing component and learning more about matching wine. We used to try and incorporate all Napa and Sonoma wines and we were just too limited since many times we have to purchase by the glass for our small intimate tours. I can see why that part would seem odd. I wish you the best, Renee

We had the best time on the “Yountville Food & Wine” tour even though it rained all day. Aniko, our tour leader, was fabulous. If we could, we would have rated her a 20 out of 10! She’s friendly, knowledgeable and a great listener. Two special things about the tour for us… 1) We were the only people on the tour, making it totally private! 2) Aniko remembered my sister & brother-in-law, who recommended this tour to us, who also were on a private tour. We laughed about it, so much! Our tour began at RH with a burrata appetizer & a paired rose’. Then walked in the rain (it was fine, not terrible) to Bottega (an Italian restaurant) for a delicious raviolo & a paired chianti. An extra… Aniko surprised my wife with a special birthday dessert. Then to Kollar Chocolates… delish (we enjoyed the wine pairing (pinot noir) with the chocolates at the end, at The Vault (RH)… mmm! After the chocolate store, we went to La Calenda (a Mexican restaurant) for fish tacos and street corn with another great wine pairing. OMG, we loved it all. We recommend this tour to all and if Aniko is your tour leader, you’re the luckiest person on earth!

Vivian is so knowledgeable and fun. We had such a great tour. We were worried of course. Our first tour like this in Napa. So very glad we did!
