Tampa Water Taxi Company
After boarding your cruise, you'll travel out in the bay to see pods of friendly Atlantic Bottle-nose dolphins. Your captain will bring you to areas where these dolphins spend their day feeding, playing and raising there young. Just outside Tampa's downtown is the nursery for Tampa Bay's dolphin population where mothers and calves frolic the day away. Your guide will explain the daily life and habits of the dolphin on this 1.5-hour cruise. When your guides spot the pods of dolphins, the boat will stop within 30 feet (10 meters) or less as the guides have ways to get them to come right to the boats. Keep your cameras ready as you will see dolphins closer than you ever thought. You will be a master of dolphin spotting by the end of your cruise! After seeing the dolphins you'll head back to to downtown Tampa, cruising the channels and river and learning about the great city of Tampa.

Saw some dolphins but was expecting lit more activity. The captain tried his best to get us to where the activity normally happens.

We want you to see as many and as close encounters with our dolphins. But the point of our trip is to see wild dolphins living as they want. What they do and how active is up to them. We do see dolphins 97% of our tours. And if you don't have an encounter that is up to our goals we invite you back at no charge to have a better one. I wish I was DR. Dolittle but we are not.

The boat ride was Amazing! Calming, peaceful, and insightful. What I like about this company, the captain Mark was very personable.

Location was easy to get to and boarding the boat was easy. This is not a luxury cruiser, but a solid boat that gives a smooth ride. The captain was very knowledgeable about the area and the history, although we did need to prompt him to give us that information, it wasn’t as though it was a preplanned narrative. He also didn’t mention that there were soft drinks and water in the cooler, but when asked he generously offered everything he had, and there was plenty for everyone. We wound up finding a lot of dolphins and the captain made every attempt to follow them and let us observe them. He was so kind that he extended the tour an extra 40 minutes because he didn’t want to pull away while the dolphins were still there and for that he gets a five!
