Overview

Hawaii looks even better from horseback, so hop on and join us for an adventure you’ll always remember. Led by a friendly guide, you’ll travel through pastures and mountain trails, seeing the gorgeous sights of Oahu’s North Shore along the way, with its clear, blue water, offshore islands, and white sandy beaches. You also get a sneak peek into the Hidden Cave, featured on “Hawaii 5-0”.

You’ll ride to the top of our lookout point and feel proud of yourself for getting there like a real paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy). We look forward to you being a part of our Ohana for a day here at Gunstock Ranch.

CHECK-IN TIME: Check in is 45 minutes prior the start time of tour. A safety demo is given 15 minutes prior to the tour, if you miss the safety demo will have missed your tour
A minimum of 2 people per booking is required
Minimum age is 7 years
All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. 240lb/109kg weight limit.
Long pants and covered shoes are recommended; bring a light jacket if the weather is cold
We ride rain or shine. If canceled due to unsafe weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund
Phones or small cameras are allowed.
No pregnant or intoxicated riders are allowed to ride.

Great experience on horseback for my girls and I. Was a little nervous about my 7 year old, but the staff matched the horses so well. So well that my kpop obsessed teen got a horse named mochi. The staff were very nice and helpful. The horses all very calm and knew exactly what they were doing.

My 18-year-old daughter and I took the 1-hour scenic horseback ride with Morgan as our guide. There were 5 other riders in our group. It was the first time my daughter rode a horse. When she first experienced being near a horse, she was 4 yrs old and was too afraid to ride one. We were at Kualoa Ranch, then. It was my second time. The first time, I was about 12 years old. My sixth grade teacher invited me to her farm for dinner and let me ride one of her horses. Morgan and the other staff were competent and careful. They explained clearly how to ride the horse. They were friendly and helpful. My wife and I were impressed that the staff was patient and helpful with another little girl. She was about 4 yrs old and was fearful at the sight of her horse. She cried when they initially attempted to have her mount the horse. With some time to pet and feed her horse, the little girl eventually agreed to ride the horse. When she returned from her ride, she had such a wonderful, happy face. She seemed so proud of her accomplishment. The ride was a good learning experience for me, as well. I lucked out with a horse that actually followed my commands. It was so amazing that I could give the gestures to my horse and he would respond appropriately. My daughter had a less experienced horse, but she still managed to command it most of the time. Her horse slipped once while on the trail. It happened at a slight climb in the trail. There was no danger, but it was a bit of excitement. The ride gave me a slight workout. From my first experience with a horse, I thought my butt and thighs would ache afterward. But this time, I had no pain, even though I am much older now and have a mild chronic pain condition. Maybe my effort to use the stirrups to stand in time with the horse's gait helped. The view at the top of the hill was also memorable. The weather was partly cloudy, and there was a burst of rain while we were preparing to mount. At the top of the hill, it was windy. We brought along jackets but we did not need them.

The ranch is located in a beautiful area, the horses were all maintained very well. The guides were happy, helpful and informative. I would recommend this as a great activity when visiting Oahu.
