Overview

Hawaii looks even better from horseback, so hop on and join us for an adventure you’ll always remember. Led by a friendly guide, you’ll travel through pastures and mountain trails, seeing the gorgeous sights of Oahu’s North Shore along the way, with its clear, blue water, offshore islands, and white sandy beaches. You also get a sneak peek into the Hidden Cave, featured on “Hawaii 5-0”.

You’ll ride to the top of our lookout point and feel proud of yourself for getting there like a real paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy). We look forward to you being a part of our Ohana for a day here at Gunstock Ranch.

CHECK-IN TIME: Check in is 45 minutes prior the start time of tour. A safety demo is given 15 minutes prior to the tour, if you miss the safety demo will have missed your tour
A minimum of 2 people per booking is required
Minimum age is 7 years
All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. 240lb/109kg weight limit.
Long pants and covered shoes are recommended; bring a light jacket if the weather is cold
We ride rain or shine. If canceled due to unsafe weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund
Phones or small cameras are allowed.
No pregnant or intoxicated riders are allowed to ride.

It was an amazing experience. There were 8 of us, 4 adults and 4 kids (Age 7-13). For the kids and some adults it was our first time riding a horse. There is a short orientation where they explain how to get on and off your horse and how to get them to move forward or stop. They pick the horse for you based on how long your legs are. We all had very sweet horses that seemed to know what they were doing. The view is magnificent and it's a very peaceful relaxing ride through the ranch. I think the one thing I wish they did would maybe to allow the kids to spend time petting and maybe giving the horse a treat.

My sister and I went on the 1.5 hour scenic horseback ride today and the views were beautiful! We had a great time riding with the group. The horses are well experienced with trail rides and were easy to ride. The ranch hands, Ashley, Anevay, and Morgan, were very personal, easy to talk to, and knowledgeable about the horses and the ranch! Just a few tips: 1) wear sunscreen, 2) the trails are dusty so wear sunglasses to help prevent it getting in your eyes, and 3) stay hydrated. Overall a great experience and would go again!

Awesome experience. While I grew up riding, this was my 9 year old daughter’s first horseback riding experience. My wife has ridden horses a few times but she is relatively inexperienced. We had a great ride through the dry Oahu mountainside with excellent views of the ocean and flora. The horses were all calm and sweet, well-behaved, and trained well. Our guide, Gavin, was excellent and explained a lot about the ranch, the island, and the horses as we rode. Recommend doing the sunset ride at 5:00; the temperature was moderate and the lowering sun made for excellent pictures. Highly recommended. For any other Chief Memory Makers out there, this is a must do for any family vacation to Oahu. Worth the drive and the cost. Our only mistake was doing 60 instead of 90 minutes; our daughter was very disappointed when it was over tho time in the petting zoo with the goats helped moderate the sting. Enjoy!
