10,000 Islands Boat Excursion - 3.5-Hour Dolphins & Shelling Tour; Cape Romano!

Overview
This is a premier experience in the Marco Island area and is superb for the entire family... from toddlers to the grandparents. It is a personalized eco-adventure. Every day is different in the Everglades and 10,000 Islands so we try to be very flexible and dynamic. The tour may/will include a bit of birding, some photography, strolling thru tidal pools, shelling on a remote beach, exploration of one of the 10,000 Islands and a visit to the very tip of Southwest Florida - Cape Romano! The first part of the experience is a guided boating eco tour in search of the areas rich wildlife. The second part is an interpretive, guided walk on a remote barrier island to explore the island's beaches, tidal pools and inter-tidal zones. Absolutely the best shell collection opportunities in Florida!

Ours was the 10,000 islands shelling boat tour at 1100 am. It was a beautiful sunny day. Captain and first mate Kim were very personable. Very knowledgeable about the islands, marine life, birds, and shells. During the boat ride they were sharing a lot of information but we were unable to hear depending on how close you were to them. There were about 24 people on the boat. We were able to see a couple of dolphins and we stopped to catch left surfacing. I would recommend a sturdier stool with wider steps to accommodate those with decreased mobility. We had a friend that had difficulty walking. Kim was fabulous with her knowledge of shells that she was sharing with me. The water was pretty nice to wade in to check shells out. I would have given 5 stars except for the stool problem and the lack of being able to hear on the boat while moving. Overall thoroughly enjoyed and would do again.
