Embark on a 75-minute , guided, leisurely stroll which takes you through the streets and alleys of one of the oldest towns in North America. Life has flourished in the Land of Enchantment for thousands of years. Many early American Indian tribes inhabited nearby pueblos and the Spanish Conquistadors explored the Southwest in search of the mythical Seven Cities of Gold. Old Town was founded in 1706, over seventy years before the United States became a country, and has thrived on the banks of the Rio Grande for centuries. Our #1 Ranked Walking Tours are held most days and evenings in the historic heart of the Duke City! We know the sights, sounds, flavors, people, shops, products, places, photo opportunities and all of the unique things that give visitors the complete “Old Town Experience”. Whether you're visiting Old Town for just a few hours or for several days, we ensure that you won't miss a thing! Uncover Old Town's unusual and well-hidden architectural details. Reminisce about the early southwest pioneers’ daily struggle to survive. Relive the sights and sounds of the Civil War as Confederate soldiers entered the Plaza. Imagine early merchants as they traveled the Santa Fe Trail for trade. We specialize in informative, interesting and entertaining outdoor walking tours which share a wide variety of interesting trivia and historical facts in the heart of the Duke City. We provide memorable experiences for both locals and visitors to the Land of Enchantment. Old Town has continued to thrive for over three centuries on the banks of the Rio Grande River. It wasn't until January 6, 1912 that New Mexico was admitted into the Union as the 47th State. Merchants traveled the nearby Santa Fe Trail and the El Camino Real in search of trade. Explorer Zebulon Pike stayed on the Plaza, held captive in the rectory of the San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church. According to U.S. vital records, Soldiers including General Stephen Watts Kearny as well as Confederate General Henry H. Sibley each occupied Old Albuquerque. Wild West legends as Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday and Billy the Kid are each rumored to have passed through Old Town The coming of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad caused a move to New Town in 1880. But later, the arrival of the Mother Road (Route 66) brought people back to Old Town in the 1930s. A visit to New Mexico is not complete without tasting our renowned chili (red or green). Many souvenirs for your friends back home can be purchased in Old Town including turquoise, Kachina Dolls, chili ristras and pottery (The cultural corridor includes museums and other attractions in close walking distance) If you're visiting in December, do not miss the Old Town Holiday Stroll and festive luminarias! We split after 30 min as it was excruciatingly boring: the guy was showing an empty wall, announcing it used to be a graffiti wall. Umm, ok. The “legends” were in the same scope: look, the post office is here now but 50 years ago it was over there. What fun! And even that we could barely hear as the guide was too quiet to deliver his halting speech over a mariachi band on the square. 4 people and lots of money wasted on this bs of a tour - beware.

Goodness, Uniqum!  Your review certainly surprised us.  Was there some problem with your ticketing or checking in?  Was the Guide anything other than friendly, happy and professional with you?  As in our 19 year's of Guiding Tours we don't really receive one star reviews, we are quite confused by yours.  Honestly, yours is not a fair nor accurate description.  You were late, and then you left after three stops.  You missed, and did not experience, 90% of the Tour; so your perception is not at all an accurate review of the full Tour experience.   You did not notify us of any problems or we would have done everything to make it right and to provide a wonderful experience for you!  You did not ask to attend another Tour.  You did not ask for a refund.  You did not communicate with us any any way from before you left the tour until you posted this review. It sounds as if you may have been stressed over being quite late for the start of the Tour.  We called you at Tour start time, when you had not arrived, to provide directions.  We, and 6 other Guests, patiently and generously waited for you;  we know that Balloon Fiesta Traffic and Old Town parking can be crazy!   And the early mornings can sure sap a person's energy.  It appeared that perhaps your Children were tired or hungry.  Or, perhaps, our Ghost Tour or a Pedicab Riding History Tour would have been a better choice for their entertainment? We received rave reviews from the other 6 people on the Tour with you.  You can scroll down and see all the 5 Star Reviews from his tours.  As a 15th generation New Mexican, Dr. PJ Sedillo knows his stuff.  The 313+ years of Old Town's History is quite varied and fascinating.  We wish you would have stayed longer than ten minutes to learn and see things in Old Town that you definitely did not see while you were there.   Yes, it is Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque.  There is music and fun everywhere!   Our Tour Guide used a microphone and voice amplifier.  Our advice is to let go, relax and allow yourself to enjoy and have some fun with all that is around you.   If you found it stressful just to "have fun" in Balloon Fiesta,  just image how difficult it is to WORK in - especially when receiving an unfair review like yours.  Our Guides work hard to provide fun and quality entertainment.  Rest assured that your "lots of money" was not wasted.  We will use it today to buy our Guide, Dr. Sedillo a well earned beer!
