Never had the opportunity to ride an ATV so took this one.
The vehicles available ranged from traditional single seaters, side-by-side two and three seaters, plus 3x2 six seaters. All the machine appear to be fairly new (Denali ATV say they replace them each year - and I can believe that) and are in excellent maintainance order.
After a safety and vehicle briefing, and instruction on how to drive them, we kitted up with crash helmets and off we went.
Yes, you ride single file in convoy, with guides at front, centre and rear of the convoy. Will you see any wildlife? Very unlikely with the noise the vehicles make. BUT IT'S NOT A WILDLIFE TOUR. If you want wildlife do a different tour.
Our ride was over mixed wet and dry tracks of varying roughness and over the dry(ish)river bed. Conditions vary depending on recent weather: our's was fairly dry with lots of dust coupled with some deep mud and running water in the dry river bed (do the tour to understand). Speeds varied, but we reached 30mph on some of the 'smoother' tracks and down to 5mph on rough terrain.
On arrival the guys running Denali ATV looked a bit (not sure how to put this nicely) rough and ready, but were the nicest guys out on the trail.
We had three stops, where a little explanation of the history and geography was explained, along with a couple of cheesy anecdotes.
If you've never ridden an ATV then this is for you.
