Overview

Get ready for an adventure in the Alaskan wilderness with an ATV tour from Denali. On an automatic single or double ATV, you'll ride along trails surrounded by Denali National Park at speeds up to 30 mph (48 kph), and make stops to enjoy 360-degree views of the Alaska Range, Otto Lake, and the Healy Valley. Traverse rocky creek beds and splash through the water (weather permitting) as a guide leads you through the rugged terrain and provides opportunities for photography. This is for the "Denali Wilderness ATV Tour" at 7pm. First suggestion, if you can I'd wait to book a tour based on the weather. The weather can change so quickly into rain as there are micro-climates in Denali. I booked mine within 48 hours of the tour because I saw the weather was going to be sunny. HOWEVER, continue to call the tour's number to ensure that they still have openings on your desired date. Second, the office location was easy to locate and booking a tour was very simple (I booked over the phone instead of online). I drove and parked right in front of the store front. Third, the ATV ride itself is awesome! The 7pm Wilderness tour the first week of June was a great alternative to the Midnight Tour (I was a week too early for the midnight tour). There is still enough sunlight to see the trails and to safely drive the vehicles. The tour guides were stellar, especially since it was just me and my uncle on the tour (yea, a surprise private tour!). Tyler and Jeremy (JDOT) were great in showing us around and describing the area. They answered all of my questions and took photos when I asked, which is something not everyone will do upon request haha. I would come back to do this tour and request these two again.

When I booked this, I thought we would be riding on flat trails. Boy was I wrong. We rode across varying terrain and had an absolute blast. My wife and two daughters had never ridden ATVs before. They give everybody a quick test at the beginning and then tips, so don't worry, they prepare you. JDOT, Rachel, and Clay were great. They were friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. Simply put, they were outstanding guides. Whether you are a seasoned ATV rider, or never ridden before, don't miss out on this experience. I promise you will not be disappointed.

As part of our Denali visit we decided to shake things up with an 8:30 morning romp through the hills, forests and rivers just outside Denali Park. “Texas Bob” picked us up at the hotel and entertained us with area facts and stories as we made our way to the trailhead. Once there we met our guides Jayne and Rachel. Briefed and given helmets, we were off on a great adventure on Kawasaki ATV mules. Some rode single, some side-by-side through bumps, mud, hills, streams and the wonders of nature. We reached speeds of over 30 miles an hour. At the two lookout areas we stopped for photos and conversations with Jayne and Rachel. We rode for 90 minutes...said our goodbyes and then got back on the bus with “Texas Bob” for a few parting stories and a return trip to the hotel. It was a fantastic morning! Next time I’ll opt for the 3.5 version. Going to Denali? Do this adventure. You’ll have a blast...and you’ll enjoy Jayne, Rachel and Bob.
