We spend a morning in Monument Valley with our guide Jim Madisson. We were lucky as we were the only 2 persons on the tour, so we had actually a private tour with Jim. He showed us so much and told us about the Navajo way of living and dealing with nature. It was an impressive tour. We saw beautiful rock formations, petroglyphs and he showed us things we would never have seen ourselves. Jim is a very kind and friendly man, who told us a lot about Monument Valley. His way of looking at the things that happen in your live is impressive, he is inspirational. We are looking back on a wonderfull day and are very happy with al the nice photos that Jim took from us in the beautifull surroundings.

Beside infos and stories shared during the tour were useless (just infos about the shades of the stones :-( Our guide Helen knowing we were French and Italian told us we were the worst tourists for tipping in before driving us to an old lady’s hogan. Despite we already paid 85$/person plus 8$\person as entrance fee, she considered and told us « it’s meant nothingĀ Ā», we told her it was cristal clear, should we get in, we will tip in…from this moment and because we did not comply to Helen’s « orderĀ Ā», she did not talk to us anymore but to the other family only!!! I don’t get at what point this kind of behavior is supposed to serve the navajo’s cause…what is sure is that so far, this tour is our worse memory of this incredible trip throughout the west of USA. Some of your people should consider changing their mindset towards people who make a step to your people culture and lands…this lady was very rude and obviously sees tourists as money stream…very sad for you…and for us! We were so looking to this visit and got so disappointed !

Hello Stephania, I do apologize for what my tour guide has said to you and you say she ignored you through the tour. I’m Greatly sorry. You will receive a full refund from us. Normally Helen does a great job on her tours. She is very informative and is very kind hearted. Again, we do apologize. I will definitely talk with her about her actions. Kind regards, Shannon cly

The tour itself was good, but the same tour was provided by a group bus that travelled to all the same locations in the park. Those tours run on a regular schedule. The issue with this tour is that they lost the keys for the truck and showed up 40 minutes late. Just not well organized.

Hello there. We are so sorry for having you wait. The keys was not lost but locked inside the vehicle. We had tried to get the vehicle open as fast as we could with a wire and a plier. We do apologize. It’s something that happens and we again are sorry. We do hope you enjoyed your tour with Helen. Kind regards, Shannon Cly
