Maid of the Mist is available from mid-May until mid-October. Please have in mind that the start of the summer season is subject to weather conditions.
Hotel Accommodations: Ramada by Wyndham Hotel or for travelers that must remain in the USA side, Comfort Inn “The Pointe” or similar. Please note specific hotels mentioned not guaranteed
Wheelchair accessible transportation must be requested in advance
All passengers are required to have proper identification when entering or leaving the United States. For entry to Canada, it is the passenger’s responsibility to make sure in advance that visa requirements are met
Passengers without the proper travel documents to cross and enter Canada can still join this tour. In such event, the passenger will remain at the hotel on the United States side of the Falls and will not join any part of the tour that will take place in the Canadian territory. You will be able to join the boat ride on the Maid of the Mist as this departs from the American side of the Falls. You will get to see the American Falls and the Canadian Falls from the boat. During the winter months, when the Maid of the Mist is not operating, you will be able to walk to the Falls on your own. There are no substitute attractions on the America side of the Falls. Outlet shopping is located on the American side and does not require a Canadian visa or passport

What To Expect

Watkins Glen State Park

SUMMER ITINERARY : We depart from the Big Apple heading north where we will pass the beautiful Delaware Water Gap to Watkins Glen State Park in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. Walk through Watkins Glen Canyon to visit the beautiful waterfalls and then continue to Niagara Falls passing Seneca Lake, arriving in the late afternoon .

WINTER ITINERARY goes to Montour Falls instead of Watkins Glen State Park

Tour the US side of Niagara including the American Falls, Goat Island and Luna Island.

Niagara Falls

For travelers interested in crossing to Canada, they will now cross the border while those that stay on the American side with have free time to enjoy the falls before both sides see the evenings amazing light show known as the Illuminated falls. After this everyone will have free time in the evening to enjoy the local attractions before returning to the American side for the night.

Niagara Falls State Park

Leaving the hotel, hear the thundering water of Niagara Falls. See the magnificent Horseshoe Falls up close and experience the power aboard the Maid of the Mist (May-October). During winter until April when the Maid of the Mist is closed we tour the Power Vista Hydro-Electric Station and the Cave of the Winds.

Pocono Premium Outlets

At noon we depart south to New York State. On the way to New York, enjoy a shopping excursion at one of the large outlet malls along the way (Crossings Premium Outlets or Waterloo Premium Outlets), find your own bargain with brand name stores for less. Evening return to New York.

Andreas was main tour guide, but there were also 2 other women guides. 1 woman was aggressive and arguementative and the other Chinese guide kept running after the travellers hurrying them along, to the point she kept looking under toilet doors to hurry us up at restroom breaks. We overheard the main guide and driver discussing on departure that we would not have time to do a part of the tour, and commented that "they will just have to get up earlier in the morning then". This made sense when arriving in Canada that to our disbelief they said that we would not be going to the falls that night due to some fog and on numerous occasions told to make our own way to the falls ourselves! Thankfully we did this on foot ourselves from the hotel and had a great experience of clear visibility, seeing the falls with their beautiful light displays. The next morning, we were rushed for a 06.15 breakfast to then be rushed off to the bus to see the falls for only 15 minutes. Before setting off, the driver expressed to the guide that he wanted to get to the border control before staff change over. We also had to pick up 2 travellers who stayed on USA side. Then, shockingly Andreas informed us that the best views would be from the USA side and not in fact the Canadian side. (This is untrue as I have done this trip before) This is why travellers are paying for a Canadian tour, and if the USA side is supposed to be better, the why stay in Canada and advertise a Canadian tour AND for 15 minutes? All observation points where closed off to the public when we got there. Throughout the trip there was animosity and arguements from the Italian larger woman guide (interpretor) towards Andreas. She was also unpleasant towards travellers. The whole experience was a sham, rip off and very upsetting. They protrayed themselves as unprofessional amatures. I will never book with Viator again.
