I thoroughly enjoyed the tour - it was really fun riding the Segway through Grant Park, the museum campus, the nature trail in Northerly Island Park and the streets of Chicago. I can't even begin to tell you how cool it was to be able to glide effortlessly through the streets and parks with the wind whizzing by you ... it was like, I was a kid again.
Mike (Captain Segway), our tour guide did a great job with his introductory remarks in allaying our fears and jitters - all four in our group had never ever ridden a Segway before. We spent the next 10 minutes practicing our newly learned driving skills in the nearby alley, which included stepping up and off, speeding up and slowing down, turning, reversing and parking the Segway. Then we were off to explore Chicago.
Mike's commentary during the tour about the history of Buckingham Fountain, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Alder Planetarium and Soldier Field was quite informative. The highlight of the tour for me was riding the nature trail in Northerly Island Park which gave us some incredible views of the Chicago skyline.
