What To Expect

Charleston City Hall

The tour will begin in front of City Hall which is one of the pillars of the "Four Corners of Law" which also includes the Courthouse, the Post Office and St Michaels Church at the intersection of Meeting Street and Broad Street. From here you will explore many notable sites in the French Quarter and the residential area "South of Broad".

Rainbow Row

Learn the history behind the famous Rainbow Row, one of the most photographed sites in Charleston. Rainbow Row is located in the "South of Broad" neighborhood which we will explore and includes many historically significant homes including the antebellum mansions located along the famous "Battery". ***Please note that stops along the tour may vary.***

Battery & White Point Gardens

Explore the residential area "South of Broad" including the Battery with views over the water to Fort Sumter.

We thought that the walking tour we took was excellent because of our wonderful guide Wendy. She was full of information and delivered it in a fun, interesting manner. It was very hot that day but she was considerate enough to always find shade for us to stand in while she talked. Lots of energy and she brought history to life!

Our tour guide, Kay, was phenomenal; very knowledgeable and interesting. I give the tour a 4 only because 2-4pm in May (or June-August) is not at all a good time to be out on the streets of Charleston unless you are not bothered by heat or humidity.
