What To Expect

Charleston City Hall

The tour will begin in front of City Hall which is one of the pillars of the "Four Corners of Law" which also includes the Courthouse, the Post Office and St Michaels Church at the intersection of Meeting Street and Broad Street. From here you will explore many notable sites in the French Quarter and the residential area "South of Broad".

Rainbow Row

Learn the history behind the famous Rainbow Row, one of the most photographed sites in Charleston. Rainbow Row is located in the "South of Broad" neighborhood which we will explore and includes many historically significant homes including the antebellum mansions located along the famous "Battery". ***Please note that stops along the tour may vary.***

Battery & White Point Gardens

Explore the residential area "South of Broad" including the Battery with views over the water to Fort Sumter.

This is the first time our teenagers have been to Charleston for a quick weekend away. Having done the horse and carriage tour before, I found this one better as we went slower and you could stop for pictures and closer looks. Lawrence was a great guide and provided a lot of history regarding the original settlement, the transitions from British to American, after the Revolutionary War, after the earthquake and fires, rebuilding after the Civil War and stock market crashes, and then the much more recent influx of money into the area. I was surprised how “new” this beautiful city was. This is a great tour to get a good overview of the historic area of downtown Charleston.

We had Amy Tankersley as our tour guide and she was fantastic. She was fun, knowledgeable and made the tour a blast. We went on the 10am tour which was the perfect way to start the day and learn a little bit of history about the city. She made it a point to stop and talk about all of the landmarks while taking us down cool side streats. We absolutely recommend
