Took the 2-hour Alleys and Passageways Tour today with tour guide Mark Jones. So interesting and Mark made it a lot of fun also. Highly recommend this tour that took us down side streets and alleyways but also through a quick lesson on Charleston history. Walk is not strenuous and a lot of stops to talk about houses, buildings, culture and general history of the sites. Mark said it would be 5000 steps. I didn't count.

Lawrence was an excellent guide! Being a native who can trace his roots to the early 1700s made his comments and answers uniquely authentic and interesting. He had a laid-back demeanor but kept a brisk pace to include as much as possible which we appreciated.

We take walking tours wherever we go to learn about the city before we strike out on our own. Kay made this tour not only informative but fun but gave us places to eat from a locals perspective
