Overview

The Bender family continues a 50 year tradition of traveling in open air style safari vehicles north of Corolla along the ocean and sand dunes on a 2 hour, small group, excursion sharing history and ecology along the way. We stop for several photo opportunities and points of interests along the way, as well including private access to the Wild Horse Conservation Area. This tour also included a professional and knowledgeable horse guide to educate you on what you are seeing. Choose from one of 3 departure times when you book.

For now, we will allow maximum capacity ONLY for one family or group per household if staying together in the same rental house. Otherwise, the maximum will be TWELVE (12) people.

If you have more than 12 people please call us directly for accommodations.

We will NOT be able to allow any children UNDER 40 POUNDS on the tour.

WE had a tremendous leader in Eric who gave our group a lot of local history of Corolla, the flora and fauna, and the history and habits of the wild horses. As an extra treat we saw many horses although we were warned that the horses were not at their greatest spotting level at this time. The ride on the beach was very exciting and somewhat cold. If you go, bring a hooded jacket and expect to be wind-blown. I would recommend this trip. It was worth the money.

We loved our tour with Edna! It was the perfect off-season timing to go on a covid-safe tour and learn about the wild horses of the region. We were able to see several horses within the residential community and learn about their lives in the Outerbanks. I don't think we could have navigated to the right locations without the tour. It was definitely worth it! We really appreciated how respectful Corolla Outerbanks Adventures and the other guests were of social distancing and wearing masks to keep each other safe.

Edna was a great tour guide. Kind patient and very knowledgeable about the area. She does love the horses. While the horses were hiding most of the time, she gave us historical information and personal information about the area. She made the trip very interesting. We did get to see a bachelor horse towards the end of the trip which made all of us very happy. It is real important to support these horses and educate yourself about the area, to save this herd. They warned us to dress in layers and it did turn cold on the beach. Would recommend this company and especially Edna as the tour guide to everyone.
