This is the third horse tour we've done with this company, and the most horses that we've ever seen (23!). I think that it's telling that we keep coming back… The first time we didn't see any horses, but our guide made it an incredible experience anyway, so we came back again. The second time we did see horses, but only about 6 and at a distance. But again, wonderful tour guide, memorable experience. This time was a horse-record, but in many ways similar to our other tours. It is really the knowledgeable guides that make the trip. Their stories, the way they answer questions, their appreciation for the history of the area. We will continue to come back as many times as we visit the OBX.

Despite going during the down season, Brad showed us 10 beautiful mustangs! We were also lucky enough to see dolphins. Brad was a fun and engaging tour guide... Brad Rox!

This was one of the best things I've done in a long time and it is a must do activity while visiting the Outer Banks. I decided at the last minute that I wanted to see the wild horses while my husband played golf. I am so glad I did! Jay, the owner, was so helpful, professional and accommodating. I ended up going on a private tour on November 17. I just bundled up and wore my hat and gloves. Edna was my tour guide and she was very friendly and knowledgeable. She had such good knowledge of the area and the horses and conveyed just the right amount of information. She has lived in the area for decades and has all sorts of insider knowledge. We saw 19 horses. We saw them 2 or 3 at a time. We even saw a bachelor. We also had the privilege of seeing Sebastian, a colt that was born in May. Riding in the back of the 4 wheel drive on the beach was even a thrill for me. I had never done that. Once we drove up the beach, we went to several areas just over the dunes and kept spotting horses. We even stopped and chatted with a volunteer for the Corolla Wild Horse Fund who was out tracking and checking on the horses. All of the necessary Covid precautions were taken. Edna stopped and talked to me through her open window or she stopped and got out to give me longer explanations about the horses and the area. I was told that I need to wear a mask which is what I would have done anyways. The added bonus was it kept my nose warm on a chilly day. Edna also wore a mask the entire time. It was a super fun 2 hours. I highly recommend Corolla Outback Adventures. I have already suggested to several family and friends that they need to go and ask for Edna to be their guide.
