2-hour Outer Banks Wild Horse Tour by 4WD

Overview

The Bender family continues a 50 year tradition of traveling in open air style safari vehicles north of Corolla along the ocean and sand dunes on a 2 hour, small group, excursion sharing history and ecology along the way. We stop for several photo opportunities and points of interests along the way, as well including private access to the Wild Horse Conservation Area. This tour also included a professional and knowledgeable horse guide to educate you on what you are seeing. Choose from one of 3 departure times when you book.

For now, we will allow maximum capacity ONLY for one family or group per household if staying together in the same rental house. Otherwise, the maximum will be TWELVE (12) people.

If you have more than 12 people please call us directly for accommodations.

We will NOT be able to allow any children UNDER 40 POUNDS on the tour.

Very worthwhile trip! I am so glad we didn’t try this on our own. The vehicle was new and our driver Edna professional. It was so cool to ride on the beach! May even do it again next week. Oh and yes we saw horses- in the brush, in carports, and on the beach.

Our guide was awesome! He had a great sense of humor, was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the horses. He knew just where to find the horses! We got to see quite a few packs of horses. The drive out to the area of the horses was breathtaking & beautiful. The length of the tour was the perfect amount of time (approx. 2 hours). The tour was excellent and well worth the money.

The whole experience was awesome. Right when I got there they checked and told me I was already checked in. Paul, the guide who's truck I was in was extremely knowledgeable about the area's history, AND being a photographer. The other people on our truck were awesome as well, and we laughed and had a great time for the two hours it took to navigate the beaches and brush. Was hoping to see some horses, and we definitely saw our share. Probably about 25. These guys know where the horses like to go and I would absolutely recommend them. I hope to get back again with my son. He'd love it!!
