We were running a few minutes past 5:45. Boarding started at 5:45, departure was at 6:05. I received a phone call from Luke to remind us of boarding time. We got there on time. Every staff member was helpful and friendly. We took the Acoma Sunset Serenade. It was pricey and I paid $20 more pp to ride in the more private carb. I didn’t expect as many people (probably at least 20 in the car) but fortunately they were all so much fun. The music was good (Robin), the bartender was excellent (Holly). Even though it wasn’t the most scenic ride, what made it fun was hearing the history of the cars, the open air car in the back plus we brought and played cards and enjoyed the music.

What a wonderful journey on a train to relax and see the sunset in Santa Fe. The employees were all welcoming, patient and helpful. Train car seating was comfortable and the open air deck car was a good experience. Live music onboard. Minimal drink and snack menu, but sufficient for the 2 hour journey.

Sky Train trip, Sunday, September 25 2022 @ 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Booking #xxxx68584 Check in was organized. Seating was orderly and easy. Window views good and other passengers allowed others to look out all windows (not much to see as most of the trip was along rural housing areas west of Santa Fe). NOT a scenic ride (rent a car or taxi, drive out in the country side 6 – 10 miles – better choice). We stopped and a high spot for view west over the countryside west of town – nice sunset with rain clouds in the distance. Menu, expensive ($12.00 for glass of wine, $15.00 margarita as I recall, $6 for a bag of caramel popcorn), free bag on seat of peanut and dried fruit items. Arrived back at station after dark – about 100 yards from platform. After ā€˜too long a timeā€ of waiting for train to move to platform we were discharged to walk back. Entertainment was good, but LOUD. Very hard to visit with other train guests (great group of tourists). Suggest a narrative of some historic type. Definitely not worth the price.
