What To Expect

Galisteo Basin Preserve

Our trains pull out of Santa Fe and head towards the Galisteo Basin Overlook before pausing and pushing back to the railyard.

The staff was very friendly and well organized. The train ride was comfortable. The musician was very talented!

We had such a great time on this train ride. We’ve never done anything like it. The scenery was beautiful! We had live music and the service was amazing! You could go through all the cars and there was outside platform at the back of the train. It’s not cheap but was very fun!

While the service was great and the music wonderful, the trip was too short. I recommend the trip to Lamy and back rather than a 2 hour "out a ways and back". The cars are comfortable. There are snacks available and drinks. It would be better if there was some narration along the way. That may be available on the longer trip.
