What To Expect

Verde River

The Classic Water to Wine tour begins with approximately an hour and a half inflatable kayak trip on a scenic stretch of the Verde River with just enough chutes and riffles to add a bit of excitement without ruffling any feathers. Your river trip ends in the shade of giant Cottonwood trees at the confluence of Oak Creek and the Verde River. Here, you take the gravel path up through the vineyards to the Tuscan farmhouse at Alcantara Vineyards for your wine tasting delight

Alcantara Vineyards and Winery

The Alcantara Vineyards is a favorite on the Verde Valley Wine Trail, featuring award-winning wines and friendly sommeliers to guide you through the tasting. Each customer gets a $20 credit (included in price) to use for wine tastings, food or gifts.

The "rapids" were perfect and our guide, Emily, was so knowledgeable and easy-going that she made the trip even better. And of course, the wine tasting at the end of the tour was fun. We met the owner and wow, what a hoot she is! The only downside to the adventure was that it had to end. We would have stayed on the water for another couple of hours if we could!
