What To Expect

Verde River

The Classic Water to Wine tour begins with approximately an hour and a half inflatable kayak trip on a scenic stretch of the Verde River with just enough chutes and riffles to add a bit of excitement without ruffling any feathers. Your river trip ends in the shade of giant Cottonwood trees at the confluence of Oak Creek and the Verde River. Here, you take the gravel path up through the vineyards to the Tuscan farmhouse at Alcantara Vineyards for your wine tasting delight

Alcantara Vineyards and Winery

The Alcantara Vineyards is a favorite on the Verde Valley Wine Trail, featuring award-winning wines and friendly sommeliers to guide you through the tasting. Each customer gets a $20 credit (included in price) to use for wine tastings, food or gifts.

This is our third kayak adventure and once again it was great! Our guide was so helpful and gave us a lot of tips how to navigate the water. There was some rain so the river was flowing faster then last time, we had a blast. If you are not sure, do it!

This was a fantastic trip with just the right amount of time on the water before going to the vineyard for a wine tasting. Our kayak guides, Nick and Bryann, were very helpful and engaging. The vineyard was beautiful and had a very pleasant outside patio to enjoy our wine tasting and a delicious bread and cheese platter. (Food was extra) There was an inside seating option as well but we wanted to enjoy the view. There was also live music while we were there making the experience even better. I highly recommend!
