  • GoCarā€™s hold a maximum of 2 people. Prices are per GoCar - not per person.

What To Expect
1
Palace of Fine Arts Theatre
The Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina District of San Francisco, California, is a monumental structure originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition in order to exhibit works of art presented there. One of only a few surviving structures from the Exposition, it is still situated on its original site. In addition to hosting art exhibitions, it remains a popular attraction for tourists and locals.
2
Golden Gate Bridge
Certainly the most-photographed bridge in the world, the Golden Gate Bridge is synonymous with San Francisco. Drive up to the viewing area, or the foot of the bridge at Fort Point, to take pictures. You can take even better pictures at Baker Beach, a few minutes drive past the bridge!

Lombard Street
Nothing beats zooming down Lombard Street, San Francisco's "Crookedest Street" in your GoCar at the end of your tour. This is a great way to experience one of San Francisco's most iconic streets.

Really a super experience, Iā€™ll highly recommend it, even though the price might scare a bit. I only had two days in San Francisco so it was fantastic. Thomas

We used our Go City Explorer pass here for the 1hr tour. It was so much fun, I wanted to stay out longer. First note, if you have the Go City Explorer Pass you need to call in to GoCar to reserve a time. They should send you a waiver via email, but they recorded my name wrong so I never got the email. I had to sign the waiver when I arrived and that takes a few minutes. Second note, this is like any other vehicle rental so they offer their insurance options. Best to double check whether youā€™re already covered to save you some money. The first thing they do is review your tour options. We booked the 1hr tour which is advertised as going through Chinatown, but was told we could go near the Golden Gate bridge instead, which we did. Then they go through a very quick orientation/safety video. I bit too quick for me, so I was a bit nervous but you learn to ride very quickly. On the website, there is mention of a tablet for an extra fee, but our GoCar had one already equipped. The GPS for the most part is very helpful, although it would be nice if you could have the option to program a single route so you donā€™t get confused by the other available routes. That being said, when given the choice to go to Lombard street, i took it which added time and cost but it was worth it. Routes are laid out very well so you always go through controlled intersections with lights or 4-way stops. You never need to make more dangerous left hand turns onto a busy street. And locals look to respect the GoCars as any other vehicle. Driving these are a lot of fun. We booked 1hr and probably ended up using them for 1.5 hours. Couldā€™ve easy spent more time on them. Fun way to tour SF.

We were very exited about this experience. The person with whom we did the paperwork, showed us the map and "explained" what route to take, how to follow the GPS, etc. Then another guy showed us what to push to start the car, how to accelerate/reduce the speed. He did that in less than a minute. So, we started our "journey" in beasty streets of SF with almost no knowledge of how to break, avoiding accidents several times. After 15 min. the GPS started acting crazy. First it disappeared, then gave delayed orders, such as "turn right" when we were in the far left lane and there was a divider we couldn't drive over. Then GPS disappeared again. We were lost. We called the number provided to us for emergency situations like this. No one was answering the phone(??). Called the office, same luck. I though let's get back with the direction given by WAZE. Of course it took us to freeway. We sopped at the freeway entrance and turned the car manually. After about 50 min. of hassle we were able to speak with someone. Thank god she gave us very clear directions to get back to office. The excuse of young lady at the office was " yeah, GPS sometimes fails"(????)
