An amazing experience, saw humpback whales feeding, breaching and they even came right up to the boat. Staff on the boat were very knowledgeable and friendly

We had a spectacular whale watching tour this past Sunday with the Discovery Whale Watch team. The weather was foggy but not much of a breeze so the seas were pretty calm. It was actually not even cold. We saw Risso's Dolphins and sea lions out swimming on the open water...and several bird species too. And then we came across bluefin tuna!! The water temperature was apparently warmer than usual and this is what brought them to the Bay? Our boat's marine biologist Isaiah said that this was only the second time in 12+ years of time on the Bay that he'd seen bluefin tuna......so it was indeed a treat to be able to see them. They're actually tough to see because they're so darn fast!! Captain Dan got an awesome video of a bluefin tuna jumping out of the water to catch an anchovy that was trying to escape. It didn't escape!! Extremely cool! After the bluefin tuna treat it was just a short ride over to where a mother and daughter Humpback pair were to be found. We watched them for an hour or so and it was spectacular. They were lunge feeding which I'd never seen before. So very cool to see this. The mother was clearly teaching her daughter how to feed. Our several hours on the water ended with the short trip back to the wharf where we were all smiles. I hadn't gone whale watching for 30+ years and we will surely not wait another 30 before going again. I highly recommend Discovery Whale Watch. No comment on Isaiah's singing and dancing abilities! lol Thanks to Dan, Isaiah and the rest of the Discovery Whale Watch team for a fantastic trip!
