Been here a few times over the years and this was the best. Saw 100s alligators in a part of a huge pool of water we've never seen before. Apparently there are over 6k alligators in this body of water. Went up very close to an injured female alligator, so close you could touch her. There are lots of things to do in Southpark especially for kids. You can just take a picnic as there is lots of outdoor covered tables or eat in the cafƩ. Gatorland have lots of baby alligators you can see too. Great half day out.

We got there an hour after they opened with no line. The lady scanned our go cards then as we were getting our bands informed us that we wouldn't be able to go out until 1. 2 hours with 4 kids under 10 (we were with another couple). Im annoyed already but ok. Everything inside you pay for. There's really only 2 activities anyway. We make the 2 hour wait which wasn't too bad (kids were great) we get on the boat go less than 5 minutes and turn back around for lightening... That's a good hour away. We're told the light goes off in 15 minute intervals. Meanwhile people are still coming in and it's bright and sunny and we have no idea when well go out. Im all for saftey but this was extreme. We wait another hour in the sunny weather and still cant go. Of course no refund and they won't allow you to make reservations for 30 min tours. They basically wasted our time and money. I would have said to find another activity from the get go knowing there's a 2 hour wait. Everything was just poorly handled.

Thank you so much for your review. We appreciate all feedback, so we can best serve our guests. We do apologize that weather caused the boats to be delayed, and in turn caused you an extended wait time. Safety is our number 1 priority at Boggy Creek. We are also regulated by the U.S. Coast Guard, and have to follow their rules and regulations. The lightning detector you are referring to is not controlled by our facility. It is a regulation lightning detector (Earth Networks product) and it goes off when you are within a dangerous number of miles from the storm. Earth Networks also serves FEMA, the US Department of Transportation, the Federal Aviation Administration. (You can see a full list of the companies they serve on their website). The device sends out a notification to our captains the second they need to be off the water and it sends out another notification when itā€™s safe to travel again. Unfortunately, even if itā€™s sunny and beautiful outside it can be very deceiving of the danger you are in. After a lightning delay the wait time would increase for all passengers. Reservations would not have reduced the time in any way. The people with reservations would go out after the ones that were delayed go out. We also refund all passengers that are not able to go out on their tour. If you purchased your tickets from a 3rdparty company you would need to get your refund through them, since thatā€™s where you purchased them. We hope you are able to return to us on our next trip. We will give you complimentary passes to go out again, so you can get the experience we regret to hear you did not have on your first trip due to Mother Nature.

I found Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures through TripAdvisor. Most of the reviews were excellent or very good so my friends and I decided to book their sunset airboat tour. I am happy to report that we were all very pleased with the tour. Captain Andy was very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. He pointed out several different species of water birds. We also saw several alligators from a distance and one young alligator right by the airboat. The sunset was absolutely beautiful that evening. I would definitely take another airboat trip with Boggy Creek.
