Fishing is not all we do !

Frequently we will see a wide variety of wildlife.
Humpback whales, porpoises, Orca (killer whales) sea lions, bald eagles and seals all out in the waters we fish.

Sometimes the whale watching ends up as the highlight of the trip !

I do not mix groups- your group only aboard my boat.

I own the boat and will be your guide during your fishing trip- no seasonal employee that is new to Alaska !

My 82yr old father, brothers and nephews went on a fabulous 4hr family salmon fishing trip with Joe late July. Joe was organized, super friendly, extremely knowledgeable and a great guide. We limited out at 6 each - constant action. We often had multiple fish on the 4 downriggers. Of course the fish don't always bite like that but Joe would make the trip interesting and fun regardless. We were on a Norwegian Cruise and only had 6hrs of shore time - Joe helped us make taxi arrangements and ensured we were back on the ship in plenty of time. Looking forward to eating the salmon we had filleted and shipped home for months to come!

Excellent fishing trip with Joe Bowen and go fish charters. Captain Joe was excellent with my seven-year-old son helping him catch several salmon. We were on salmon all day and had no issue essentially catching as many salmon as we wanted. Anytime the bite slowed down, Joe would change tactics and it would pick right back up again. Very pleasant to spend a half day with, great equipment and boat. Extremely knowledgeable. Outstanding operation all the way around. I wouldn’t hesitate to fish with Joe again.

We had a wonderful fishing trip with Joe during our visit to Alaska. Joe was on his boat when we arrived at the dock with all the necessary gear ready to take us out on the water. He was very knowledgeable of the area and the fishing grounds which ensured an enjoyable experience. Most importantly, we caught fish! We caught king salmon, lingcod, and a tiger fish. Joe handled everything and we had a memorable day on the water. I would recommend a fishing trip with Joe for anyone that is visiting Ketchikan. After our great day of fishing, Joe was nice enough to drive us back to our cruise ship. Fishing with Joe was definitely a highlight of our vacation.
