Don't waste your money! This was the worst excursion of our 10 day cruise/land tour to Alaska for several reasons: #1) It took 5 phone calls for them to find us: 2 phone calls stated we were at the Princess Chalet Lodge, 2 phone calls went unanswered and the last phone call we finally got picked up. #2) When we arrived at the rental location, we asked why they couldn't find us and the manager replied with a snide remark that they give up after 3 attempts. What about customer service????? Wouldn't it have been nice for them to have called us to clarify where we were standing? #3) After signing the rental papers, we asked for suggestions on where to go and he simply said just go on the Denali Highway about so far down (he pointed it out on the map) and that will be far enough for your 4 hours. He mentioned that we may want to use the Jeep's GPS instead of our phone for directions. Without further comments, we left without any instruction on how to use the GPS in the Jeep and yes, our cell phone coverage was very sporadic. Luckily, Alaska only has a few roads to travel. #4) Upon our return to the rental store, the manager stated we didn't refill the gas tank. As a courtesy, it would have been nice prior to us leaving about emphasizing the policy about refueling the Jeep. Once again, the manager gave a snide remark and simply said, it's in the contract. This was the worst customer service we experienced during our entire trip.

Nice jeep, but they donā€™t allow off-roading. Dirt roads only. Not knowing the area, I asked for trail recommendations and was given 4 QR codes that linked me to NPS maps of well groomed dirt roads that I could have driven in my rental car. Not worth the money, has, time.

Yes, you are correct. There is no "off-roading" in the Denali area because we are surrounded by protected land - National Park, Native Land, and State Land. Unlike most rental car companies, you are able to take our Jeeps on remote dirt roads like the Denali Highway. We are not an off-road rental company. There is an ATV rental company in our area that rents Polaris RZRs and you can go off-roading with them - Denali Toy Rentals. We provide recommendations for the Jeep rentals as a convenience for our guests - most guests really appreciate that!

The Jeep was very nice and clean. We were disappointed that the company didnā€™t provide maps of suggested routes. We didnā€™t really know where to go and maps would have been helpful. Or maybe GPS with routes in the vehicle.
