My wife, her three sisters and their husbands all went on this tour last week4-24-2017 and were extremely happy how everything was handled by VIATOR and Maverick helicopter company. With six older people58 some were nervous and a little scared but were put to ease when talking to the employees at the desk and the pilots who flew the helicopters.I was very pleased to see a whole different part of the Grand Canyon as these tours take you to areas you would not normally see. The pilots talk to you and explain what you are seeing and how it got that way. This is a must do if you ever get to the Grand Canyon, yes I know it is expensive but it gives you a whole new perspective of the landscape. This is something we will never forget

We pre-booked, online, an early morning “Canyon Spirit” flight from the Grand Canyon Airport. We stayed overnight nearby in Tusayan and arrived at the airport at about 07:15 am for our “weigh in” and allocation to our helicopter and pilot. Our pilot Ben gave us a flight safety briefing before allocating us to our seats and, as there were only five people on our flight, we were all lucky to have window seats! We took off at about 07:50 am and flew over the Kaibab National Forest for about seven minutes before the ground dropped away and we flew off the edge above the Grand Canyon. The views were stunning and the Grand Canyon was so vast it now felt that the helicopter was hovering! We flew over to the Eastern Side, along the North Rim then back to the Bright Angel/South Rim before returning to the airport about one hour later. We had an excellent flight with a very interesting, knowledgeable and amusing commentary, from our pilot Ben, throughout our flight. We were very lucky to have excellent conditions with a bright blue sky, no wind, lots of sun and a very steady flight with no turbulence. On arrival back we had time for a photo opportunity posing with Ben in front of our helicopter. It was quite an expensive trip but it was worth it to be flown safely, on this once in a lifetime opportunity, by such a professional and efficient organisation. Highly Recommended!
