45 Minute Semi-Submarine Tour of Catalina Island From Avalon

Overview
Come aboard Catalina Island's newest semi-submarine, the SS Nautilus, and enjoy a deep sea adventure 1,000 leagues beyond your imagination. The main attraction of this unique vessel allows six feet underwater viewing while staying dry so eager seafarers can get up close and face-to-face with schools of fish anticipating treats fired away from custom designed fish food torpedo buttons. Designed after America's first nuclear powered submarine, the USS Nautilus, the 45-minute journey is the destination itself as our captain and his crew ventures out on an exploratory mission to the undersea gardens of Avalon Bay.

We enjoyed the semi-submarine trip so much. I have taken glass bottom boat rides before and didn't expect much with this semi-submarine ride, but the fish were plentiful and very active. The 45 minute ride was just the right amount of time to enjoy but not get bored.

Grandma and teen granddaughter came to Catalina for fun in the sun and sea and get to know the history and fun of the town. we loved the Yellow submarine the torpedo shots of fish food for the local fish schools of all kinds of fish. The fish would peer in the port holes to watch you and see if you were about to push the button for the pow launch of the torpedo food. Cool the history and nature lesson was very informative and entertaining. The guy sounds like Jack Black. the fish were the best part of the day.

A fun 45 minutes. Visibility not as good as anticipated possibly due to time of year?. Fish food guns brought dozens of fish.
