45 Minute Semi-Submarine Tour of Catalina Island From Avalon

Overview
Come aboard Catalina Island's newest semi-submarine, the SS Nautilus, and enjoy a deep sea adventure 1,000 leagues beyond your imagination. The main attraction of this unique vessel allows six feet underwater viewing while staying dry so eager seafarers can get up close and face-to-face with schools of fish anticipating treats fired away from custom designed fish food torpedo buttons. Designed after America's first nuclear powered submarine, the USS Nautilus, the 45-minute journey is the destination itself as our captain and his crew ventures out on an exploratory mission to the undersea gardens of Avalon Bay.

The company randomly cancelled our tickets and didn't let us know until an hour before the ride. Once we arrived at the deck to see what was going on, the seller told us that all the tickets were sold out. Horrible customer service and was very rude. They then proceeded to say that they had only one spot left for our family of 3. So my kid is supposed to go alone on a submarine, or just me alone? Unbelievable. Trust me, don't book this tour. The others that somehow managed to get on the submarine and actually complete this activity told me that it wasn't even enjoyable and the machine is old. Catalina didn't even try to help me but instead just kept saying that everything is booked. So I took the 1hr boat ride with my family to come and do what? All the locals were rude and everything else was so overpriced. The only thing that we managed to enjoy was the food. Once we tried to contact the ticket sellers for this tour, it was like they have disappeared. The people in Catalina managing the tours were constantly lying to us all the time. Such a bad experience and it ruined our whole day trip. Never coming back and absolutely not giving this tour a second chance. Trust me. Would give it a zero if I could.

Fish come right up to the window. Fun experience. Did not purchase food torpedo but others did so many fish to see.

Best submarine trip ever. The fish come up to the window when you feed them through a paid food source launcher. The fish were ready for the submarine and eagerly swam up to the windows. The seaweed was plentiful and up close. Highly recommend this voyage.
