45 Minute Semi-Submarine Tour of Catalina Island From Avalon

Overview
Come aboard Catalina Island's newest semi-submarine, the SS Nautilus, and enjoy a deep sea adventure 1,000 leagues beyond your imagination. The main attraction of this unique vessel allows six feet underwater viewing while staying dry so eager seafarers can get up close and face-to-face with schools of fish anticipating treats fired away from custom designed fish food torpedo buttons. Designed after America's first nuclear powered submarine, the USS Nautilus, the 45-minute journey is the destination itself as our captain and his crew ventures out on an exploratory mission to the undersea gardens of Avalon Bay.

It was a nice 45 minutes experience. I would advise anyone who take this tour to purchase the food torpedoes. When you shoot the torpedoes you will see an abundance of fish outside to the portal.

My son loved it. My only complaint is that the ticketing system is horrible especially if you buy ahead of time online. We had to wait for paper printed tickets which took 45 minutes to retrieve. Digital tickets should be efficient to present at the Semi-sun line at entrance

Waited in line for 30 minutes to get good seats just to be told that we needed printed tickets. There was no mention whatsoever when we booked and in fact was given the option to add it to my apple wallet. The guy was incredibly rude. He was also yelling at kids to “get back” when they were just standing there. Lost my place in line. I couldn’t wait for this tour to end. The windows in the sub were badly scratched so not at all clear. $180 for my family would have been better spent on a casual snorkeling trip. Complete waste of money.
