What To Expect

Catalina Adventure Tours

Explore the Catalina Island's amazing undersea gardens by venturing on an exploratory mission aboard the semi-submersible SS Nautilus. Designed after the USS Nautilus, America's first nuclear powered submarine, this 45-minute 6-feet underwater journey departs from the Green Pier and will cruise to a marine preserved sanctuary known as the Lovers' Cove. Equipped with torpedo buttons, adventurers can create a feeding frenzy right from their viewing porthole for an additional charge. On the way back to the marina, enjoy breathtaking harbor views on the top deck of the submarine. Weather permitting, undersea garden tours depart hourly year round from mid-morning until an hour before sunset.

while the experience is cool the issue is 45 min ride. It takes at least 15-18 each way minutes to see the fish, then you have to pay extra to see the fish up close by feeders located by at your window. So your viewing is at most 15 minutes.

It was a smooth and visually fun ride . We enjoyed the turquoise waters and all the fish swimming up close.

Very nice and relaxing way to see the fishes underwater and be with family. There are no bathrooms on the sub so be aware of that before boarding, overall, great experience!
