45 Minute Semi-Submarine Tour of Catalina Island From Avalon

Overview
Come aboard Catalina Island's newest semi-submarine, the SS Nautilus, and enjoy a deep sea adventure 1,000 leagues beyond your imagination. The main attraction of this unique vessel allows six feet underwater viewing while staying dry so eager seafarers can get up close and face-to-face with schools of fish anticipating treats fired away from custom designed fish food torpedo buttons. Designed after America's first nuclear powered submarine, the USS Nautilus, the 45-minute journey is the destination itself as our captain and his crew ventures out on an exploratory mission to the undersea gardens of Avalon Bay.

Unfortunately, I certainly had a different experience than the others people providing rave reviews. Totally uninspired tour and quite boring. I've been on so many tours around the world, I have a good idea how fun tours should go. Merlin Entertainment is a good standard for tour companies to follow with respect to providing entertainment. This had so much potential but fell flat. Tour guide provided no engaging background or dialogue about the locations being visited, no small talk, no history of the island, and nothing but 3 types of unimpressive fish in the water, and a constant push to pay for fish food. My kid loves submarines, but she found it totally boring.

This was by far the most fun I have had with my family. It is both fun and educational. You even get to feed the fish. Highly recommend.

The Submarine Ride Was Wonderful! I Enjoyed Feeding The Fish With A Torpedo! Feeding The Fish Was A Bit Pricey , But It Sit The Scene For Great Pictures. They Also Had Some Sound Effects To Add To The Excitement If Traveling With Younger Children.
