This tour was very well done. It was informative with a personal touch. Debbie really connects with her audience and as a native New Yorker has stories beyond the facts that make the tour a great experience. She seems to know and be loved by everyone we passed by on the tour and for good reason!

I was very disappointed in this tour. The guide offered long walks through buildings with shops. I did not get time to meditate or pay homage to this holy place made so by so many lives lost. It was long and tedious but not what I had in mind when I booked the tour. If I ever have the honor to go again it will not be with a loud tour guide who has no sense of time or place!

HI Barbara and thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your visit and I would welcome the opportunity to hear what I could do to make it more of what you had anticipated it would be. I hope you will call or email me to share those ideas but for now I'd like to offer you my thoughts on how and why this visit is currently structured as it is. In the 17 years since that terrible day much has been done to rebuild the World Trade Center complex with the primary goal of the architects being to honor and remember the victims while rebuilding the complex and restoring the economy of Lower Manhattan. Their work includes The 9/11 Memorial Pools, new office buildings, the new Oculus Mall - which houses the shops, and a performing arts center is scheduled to open in 2020. The architects wanted all of it to be part of the 9/11 Memorial so everything there contains symbolism to achieve that goal. With that in mind I designed this visit to not only speak to the horrific events of that day but also to take visitors through and around the site to show them what has been done there, to point out the symbolic meaning in the design of it all, and show some of the smaller and very beautiful memorials that have been built in the area. Finally, I decided the walk should end at the 9/11 Memorial to allow guests as much or as little time as they like to visit at their own pace and in their own way. Once again I sincerely thank you for your feedback and I hope this helps you understand why the visit is structured as it is. I look forward to hearing from you regarding your suggestions on what could be done to make the visit more like what you expected.

Our tour guide, Jim, made the two hour tour very informative and entertaining. He pointed out some cool landmarks and details that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. Just as he was telling us heā€™d finally seen (earlier that day for the first time) the woodpecker responsible for all the holes in the bark of The Survivor Tree, the bird appeared again. He was beside himself, and seeing a New Yorker get excited about anything was cool to witness. The museum was sobering and well done. I thought it commemorated the events of that day and afterwards with respect. Iā€™m happy I finally went.
