The respect and honour that’s been created to remember everyone that has lost their lives connected to the Twin Towers is quite something. The guided tour was worth it but was quite intense walk wise (a few in our group ducked out to sit down and my back started to ache). I’m a stickler for rules and did annoy me a lot to see people taking photos in the “do not take photos” sections. I’d quite happily see them kicked out. Also saw a lot of people pulling sad faces to take photos at the memorial then checking them and smiling as though they had achieve the right look for insta. Quite troubling really. Nice thing to find out that if there’s a white rose on someone’s name it’s because it’s their birthday and a volunteer does that every day. A lovely touch

Museum opened at 10am and we joined the queue about 9.30am. We had the GO City Explorer Pass so had to queue up to get a ticket. Once we got to the front of the queue the next time slot available was 11.30am and were told to come back around 11.15am. Whilst we waited, we walked around the memorial pools which was incredibly emotional. I find it difficult to describe this museum but all I can say is it is such a moving and beautiful tribute to the people who lost their lives and a must visit for everyone to New York to pay their respects.

The exhibit with the timeline and videos was fascinating (and saddening). Security was a bit disorganized though.
