This is what our trip to New York was all about as my husband is a retired UK firefighter, and we were both so interested to see the memorial and museum. I have knocked a star off as we bought tickets for 12.30pm, arrived well in time but were told to join a very long queue, outside in the rain and didnt get in for an hour. Once inside, it was all we expected it to be, lots of photos and items that were found in site during the clean up. The story of the flights and the people involved was available in detail, harrowing phone calls from the Towers and the planes. There was so much so see and we wish we had been able to get onto a guided tour but these had sold out well in advance. An amazing tribute.

Booked for Friday 2nd December for 15.30. I arrived late at 16.00 and could not get in. I therefore phoned Viator to try and rearrange for following day. They said I would have to contact the tour operator which was the 9/11 museum itself . I tried phoning them but they did not answer. Went the following day and paid for another ticket and queued for 3 hours in the rain. Contacted Viator again to try and get a refund but would not provide one - In short - do not book this experience via Viator - book directly with the museum. Otherwise if anything goes wrong , you won’t have a leg to stand on

The immersive experience was incredible. Hearing and reading bystanders accounts and victims anguished calls to loved ones surely put that day into perspective.
