PREFACE My wife & I were initially hesitant to even do the museum due to the obvious heaviness it would introduce to our first ever trip to NYC. We thought how, like all Americans, we’ve been thru all those 9/11 feelings, why subject ourselves to an onslaught more of the same. However, after countless reviews – and friends – counseled us otherwise, our next thing was, well, maybe instead of 3-4 hrs, we can do a brisk walk-thru in 90m or so … GLAD WE SPENT 3 HRS So there you have it – allow 2-1/2 to 3 hrs minimum. It’s much more sprawling than you’re expecting, will totally surprise you. Not only that, you can’t help but get pulled in by the exhibits, the pictures, the videos, … it’s just such a moving experience, you “want” to spend the quality time to let the message sink in. It’s the respectful thing to do. We watched those horrible events from the comfort of our tv and phone screens, while others experienced it firsthand, whether office workers, first responders, or worse, airline passengers, pilots, or flight attendants on those flights. AMAZING TRIBUTE WITH NO COMPARE How to pay respects to the various fallen in that tragic event, tastefully with grace, when vast multitudes will find fault in the smallest thing, I can only imagine the trials and tribulations leading to the wonderful results that are the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. God bless those with the fortitude and dedication to make this wonderful tribute happen. I simply can’t impore you enough – go, see, visit the museum – make it part of your trip, you’ll be so glad you did.

The teams of people, supplies & coordination for the massive event that nobody knew ahead of arriving to towers was going to be like to even think about preparation. It just was….HORRIFIC! Our hearts bleed sadness for everyone there who died and who survived.

Everyone visiting NYC should come here, lest to pay respects to all those whose lives were impacted by this tragic event. Seeing everything brought back our memories of watching events on live TV all those years ago. We came with our teen who knew a bit about 911 but coming to the museum taught us so much & more, we all left with an overwhelming sense of awe & admiration for the heroes & their stories told so well through the exhibits. Defiantly a place for reflection & respect - NOT selfies which sadly we saw too many people posing, pouting & smiling by the memorial fountains - wholly inappropriate behavior in my opinion (many were Americans which I couldn’t believe). We booked in advance (so easy to do online) which meant we skipped the massive massive queue & walked straight in at our 10:30 am booking. A small delays for Airport style security & we were straight in…
