A Day in Amish Country

Overview
Pennsylvania is home to a fascinating culture found in the rural farmlands outside of Philadelphia. Join our tour to understand the complex history and lifestyle of the Amish community and dispel the myths of a much misunderstood people.

Your tour starts with a ride in our comfortable van out to the idyllic countryside of Lancaster County, where you’ll hear about the beginnings of Amish culture in the United States and see farmers hard at work in their fields.

Your local guide will fully immerse you in the way of life here with a visit to an 1800s farmhouse, and your included admission to the Amish Village Museum will give you a deeper appreciation for the traditions and philosophies of the Amish communities.

We’ll have time for stops in small towns highlighting Amish-made goods, including quilt shops, bakeries, and road-side stands. Best yet, you’ll have the chance to support the community with your food purchases, with unique options recommended by your guide!

Surprisingly, I was the sole guest on this trip and thus enjoyed a private tour. Adam was very informative. I learnt a lot about the history, way of life and challenges faced by the Amish. I especially enjoyed the lunch and Amish snacks at the stops in Amish country.

Dale was an excellent tour guide. Not only was he friendly and knowledgeable but he had a great rapport with the Amish business owners. He brought us to many great spots that we wouldn’t have found on our own. Amish country is very beautiful, and worth the visit. Highly recommend this tour and Dale as a guide!

Me and my wife were spending a couple of days in Philadelphia and we came across WeVenture for a tour to visit the Amish community with a few other folks. The trip was really well organized and the coordination by Adam our guide as well as all the information provided throughout the visit was extremely insightful. The tour it’s a great option if you stay in Philly since the van departs from the city center so you don’t need to take the train to Lancaster by yourself and then connect with local tours which is the main advice that hotels tell you! We’re experienced travellevers used to explore by ourselves, this tour gave us added value and customized content. We definitely reccomend this tour and for sure you’ll have a wonderful experience!

Thank you for this excellent review! We are currently the only option in the city that picks guests up and drops them off here in Philadelphia. We provide comfortable transportation and a knowledgeable guide that will give you the historical and cultural background of the Amish community while you commute to Lancaster County. That alone makes for a unique experience that you won't find anywhere else.
