COVID has definitely changed the world as we know it so when my wife and I looked for things to do in Portland, I stumbled on this walking tour. Great to see that this tour is still operating. Our tour guide, Mike, definitely was the MVP of our day. We spent 2 hours learning the history of the city of Portland including Old City and Downtown(thereā€™s discrepancy on where this actually is), the culture, food and sights. Even though it was two hours, it didnā€™t feel like it at all and I wished we could spend another hour touring. Portland is a very walkable city so you will enjoy! Mike was even kind enough to purchase us chocolate chip cookies from Standard and recommended five restaurants. We ate at one afterwards and he was spot on. Make sure you book the next time youā€™re in Portland!

Mike was actually a food tour guide 1st, and the inspiration for us starting the history centric tours, which gave him a great base to dazzle his history guests with his culinary knowledge too! He will be ecstatic to see your thoughtful review and as a small, local business we appreciate your recommendation too.

My friend and I wanted to take in the city and get some history at the same time. Our guide Mike was super knowledgeable and told us lots of interesting things about the history of Portland that we will remember forever.

We were disappointed in the tour. My wife and I have done dozens of historic, foodie and ghost tours as we do lots of road trips. The tour guide, Mike, was a nice man, friendly and on time. The issue was that it was a historic tour and he spent the majority of time talking about anything but history. It was scheduled for 2.5 hours, we left after an hour. We have never left a tour before it finished in the past. I would guess that out of the 60 min we were on the tour 49 minutes were spent discussing, restaurants, lobster fishing, pollution, climate change, and Mikeā€™s background. We knew his colleges, different areas he lived and his illnesses. We felt we would have a better time on our own.

Mike, Sorry about the delayed response as we somehow missed your review. Your tour guide, Mike has consistently received 5-stars, in fact, this is the only less than 5-stars review ever. Regardless, I would consider lobster fishing, climate change, and restaurants to all be part of the history of Portland as well as present day. But it sounds like Mike was getting personal and he often will answer just about any questions that come his way...We are sorry to read that this tour was not your cup of tea....
